Job Summary The Senior Technician / Technician (Electrician / Mechanic) is responsible for performing electrical and mechanical maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and equipment support activities to ensure optimal operational performance of machinery and equipment. Reporting to the Senior Plant Manager, this role supports equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and technical operations at the Company’s Equipment Hub and regional project sites while ensuring compliance with HSEQ standards and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Adhere to all site HSEQ guidelines, safety requirements, and company policies and procedures.
Diagnose malfunctioning systems and equipment to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
Inspect electrical and mechanical systems, equipment, and components to detect defects, hazards, or maintenance requirements.
Perform repairs, assembly, installation, and maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment and components.
Plan wiring layouts and equipment installations based on operational and project requirements.
Conduct scheduled, corrective, and preventive maintenance activities on machinery and equipment.
Guide and lead equipment repair activities to minimise downtime and optimise operational efficiency.
Plan and manage spare parts inventory for electrical and mechanical components.
Prepare detailed service and maintenance reports accurately and in a timely manner.
Conduct basic equipment and operational training for team members when required.
Lead and implement workplace 5S initiatives to maintain organisation, cleanliness, and safety standards.
Operate forklifts and other equipment as required for operational support.
Provide troubleshooting support and technical assistance to site and workshop teams.
Undertake additional duties and responsibilities assigned by management in support of project and operational requirements.
Willingly support construction site operations and outdoor work under varying environmental conditions.
Technical Expertise
Sound knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting practices.
Understanding of foundation and ground engineering construction equipment and operations.
Experience in preventive maintenance, fault diagnosis, and equipment repair activities.
Ability to interpret technical requirements and execute equipment installation and maintenance tasks.
Knowledge of workplace safety standards, HSEQ compliance, and safe handling of tools and machinery.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced operational environments.
Adaptability and multitasking capability within dynamic and evolving project environments.
Qualifications
Minimum PMR, SPM, or equivalent qualification.
Must possess a valid CIDB Green Card.
Competency certificates for operating heavy machinery are an added advantage.
Minimum 2–4 years of relevant working experience in electrical, mechanical, or equipment maintenance roles.
Willingness to travel and work across regional project locations including Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Brunei, Thailand, and other ASEAN/South Asian markets.
Self-motivated, safety-conscious, and capable of working both independently and within a team environment.
