Job Summary
The Site Engineer is responsible for overseeing daily construction site operations, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with quality and HSEQ standards. Reporting to the Project Manager, this role involves coordinating site activities, managing resources, supervising site teams, and ensuring alignment between engineering designs and on-site execution. The position requires a hands-on approach and regular outdoor site work.


Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and coordinate daily site activities in accordance with project specifications and updated engineering drawings.
  • Monitor project progress to ensure timely and quality execution of works.
  • Provide technical input to project drawings, designs, and operating parameters while overseeing construction engineering processes.
  • Collaborate with clients to align on project schedules, work sequences, and site activities.
  • Supervise site crews and subcontractors to ensure productivity, accountability, and compliance with safety standards.
  • Understand geotechnical aspects of projects, including soil conditions and CPT data, to identify risks and implement mitigation measures.
  • Assist in project cost control by promoting value-based procurement, optimal equipment utilisation, and compliance with material usage processes.
  • Prepare and submit accurate project documentation, including daily reports, site diaries, progress claims, QA/QC reports, and financial projections.
  • Implement global QA/QC programmes and initiatives to ensure compliance with project and regulatory requirements.
  • Implement global HSEQ programmes and conduct regular inspections and material testing to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Prepare work schedules in coordination with the Project Manager and liaise with clients, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Technical Expertise
  • Sound knowledge of construction site management and project execution practices.
  • Understanding of geotechnical engineering principles, including soil conditions and site investigation data (e.g., CPT).
  • Experience in ground improvement works is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), MS Project, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with site personnel and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of QA/QC procedures and HSEQ compliance standards within construction projects.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Minimum of 1 year of relevant working experience in ground improvement or related construction projects.
  • Valid Supervise Construction Work for WSH certificate (preferred).
  • Accountable, proactive, cost-conscious, and committed to delivering high-quality project outcomes.
  • Willingness to work outdoors and be actively involved in on-site activities.
