Job Summary
The Senior Structural Engineer is responsible for leading and executing structural engineering activities for offshore facilities projects, including detailed design, analysis, and coordination with multidisciplinary teams. This role ensures engineering deliverables are completed in compliance with applicable codes, project specifications, quality standards, budget requirements, and schedule commitments while providing technical guidance to junior engineers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform as Lead, Sub-Lead, or Senior Engineer during project execution and take ownership of assigned structural engineering tasks.
  • Lead preparation and technical review of Material Requisitions.
  • Perform and validate structural design calculations for offshore facilities.
  • Coordinate engineering activities with other disciplines to ensure integrated project delivery.
  • Forecast Material Take-Off (MTO) requirements for the designated design area.
  • Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project technical specifications.
  • Interpret and incorporate third-party reports, including geotechnical investigations, bathymetric surveys, and metocean data, into structural design bases.
  • Ensure engineering designs comply with applicable codes, standards, performance requirements, and client specifications.
  • Prepare, update, and verify detailed engineering calculations and deliverables.
  • Contribute to optimisation of material quantities through value engineering initiatives.
  • Monitor supplier compliance with contractual technical requirements, budget commitments, and manhour allocations.
  • Ensure timely internal and external reporting on engineering and requisitioning activities.
  • Maintain project quality objectives and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Interface with procurement, planning, and other project support functions as required.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and support to junior engineers.

Technical Expertise
  • Advanced proficiency in SACS structural engineering software.
  • Strong working knowledge of USFOS for offshore structural analysis.
  • Experience using GRLWEAP for pile driveability analysis.
  • Expertise in offshore substructure and topsides in-service analyses, including static in-place, dynamic in-place, and spectral fatigue analyses.
  • Strong knowledge of pre-service analyses, including lifting, load-out, on-bottom, and pile driveability assessments.
  • Ability to interpret geotechnical, bathymetric, and metocean data for structural design applications.
  • Familiarity with offshore structural design codes, standards, and engineering best practices.
  • Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering interfaces on offshore projects.
  • Additional experience with SESAM, Abaqus, or Ansys is advantageous.
  • Exposure to specialised analyses such as seismic (ELE and ALE), blast and fire structural collapse, vibration, and wind fatigue analysis is considered an added advantage.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
  • Minimum CGPA of 3.5 or equivalent Second Class Upper qualification.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in structural design and execution of offshore oil and gas facilities projects.
  • Strong understanding of offshore structural engineering principles, fabrication, installation, and operational considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead engineering tasks, manage technical interfaces, and deliver high-quality engineering outputs within project schedules.
