Job Summary The Senior Process Engineer is responsible for leading, coordinating, and delivering technically complex process engineering design and operational activities for offshore and oil & gas projects. This role ensures high-quality engineering execution in compliance with applicable standards, procedures, schedules, budgets, and client requirements, while maintaining a strong focus on safety, operational excellence, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of process engineers to ensure effective execution of day-to-day process engineering activities.
Deliver technically sound, safe, environmentally compliant, cost-effective, and schedule-driven engineering solutions for projects and studies.
Prepare and review key process engineering deliverables, including design basis, process descriptions, simulations, calculations, PFDs, heat and material balances, process and utility P&IDs, equipment and instrumentation datasheets, and utility and chemical consumption summaries.
Lead large-scale detailed engineering projects, particularly for offshore facilities, in compliance with applicable industry codes, standards, and regulations.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to engineers and designers within and across disciplines to ensure quality and timely delivery of engineering outputs.
Support all phases of project execution, including engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up activities as required.
Interface and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering and design teams.
Provide mentorship, guidance, and technical training to junior and less experienced process engineers.
Ensure process engineering solutions comply with client requirements, industry standards, engineering procedures, and HSE best practices.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of engineering procedures, methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Ensure all assigned process engineering works are executed within approved quality, budget, and schedule requirements.
Technical Expertise
Strong expertise in offshore oil and gas process engineering and detailed engineering project execution.
Extensive experience in process simulations, calculations, and development of key engineering deliverables.
Thorough knowledge of applicable international codes, standards, regulations, and HSE requirements.
Proven experience as a Lead Engineer or Technical Advisor on complex engineering projects.
Strong multidisciplinary coordination and technical leadership capabilities.
Ability to manage engineering deliverables, schedules, budgets, and technical risks effectively.
Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Degree in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline.
Minimum of 20 years’ relevant experience in process engineering within the oil and gas industry.
Proven experience leading large-scale offshore detailed engineering projects.
Strong leadership and team management capabilities with the ability to mentor and develop engineering teams.
