Job Summary The Senior Piping Designer is responsible for delivering high-quality piping design and 3D modelling for offshore and onshore oil and gas projects. This role ensures all piping layouts and models are developed in accordance with project specifications, safety requirements, and operational considerations, while maintaining compliance with design standards and ensuring coordination across multiple engineering disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
Provide contractual support and advisory services to project teams in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Develop and maintain 3D piping models, ensuring alignment with project specifications, standards, and requirements.
Perform piping routing studies for all applicable lines, ensuring compliance with P&IDs, line lists, and process requirements such as slope, free flow, and avoidance of pockets.
Incorporate latest vendor data, equipment layouts, plot plans, and equipment lists into piping design and modelling.
Ensure designs consider accessibility, operability, and maintainability, including equipment orientation, nozzle positioning, and provision of ladders, platforms, and access routes.
Coordinate closely with mechanical and other discipline engineers to ensure accurate and complete design inputs.
Integrate stress analysis requirements, including pipe flexibility and stress categories, into piping design.
Perform pipe support studies, identify suitable support locations and spans, and prepare pipe support details for stress analysis teams.
Ensure proper pipe spacing, insulation allowances, and inclusion of guides and stoppers in design.
Prepare adequate space for equipment removal and maintenance within the 3D model.
Update and maintain master design documents, ensuring all changes and mark-ups are accurately reflected.
Validate and maintain accurate model and line attributes based on project maturity levels.
Ensure clash-free 3D models through coordination with structural, E&I, and other engineering disciplines.
Prepare equipment layouts, plot plans, and piping arrangement drawings for offshore, onshore, and floating facilities.
