Job Summary
The Security Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, monitoring, maintaining, and enhancing physical security systems and cybersecurity infrastructure to safeguard the organisation’s assets, facilities, networks, systems, and data. This role supports both operational and project requirements by conducting risk assessments, ensuring compliance with security standards, troubleshooting technical issues, and delivering reliable security solutions across construction, commercial, industrial, and data centre environments.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, configure, and maintain physical and cybersecurity systems and infrastructure.
  • Monitor and manage security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection systems, alarm systems, surveillance systems, firewalls, and related security devices.
  • Perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, testing, system upgrades, and troubleshooting to ensure optimal system performance.
  • Monitor network and system security to identify vulnerabilities, threats, and potential security breaches.
  • Implement cybersecurity controls including firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection, antivirus solutions, and other security applications.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, risk analyses, penetration testing, and recommend corrective actions to strengthen security posture.
  • Support the installation, configuration, testing, commissioning, and integration of security systems for new and existing projects.
  • Coordinate with contractors, consultants, vendors, IT teams, and project stakeholders during system deployment and commissioning activities.
  • Verify installations comply with project specifications, security standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Conduct security risk assessments and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Develop, maintain, and update security policies, procedures, technical documentation, and system records.
     
  • Support internal and external security audits, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), disaster recovery planning, and business continuity initiatives.
  • Respond to security incidents, alarms, and system failures, investigate root causes, and recommend preventive measures.
  • Prepare maintenance reports, incident reports, inspection records, system configurations, and security performance reports.
  • Provide technical guidance, user support, and security awareness training to internal stakeholders.
  • Participate in project meetings and operational reviews while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Technical Expertise
  • Strong knowledge of physical security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, alarm, and surveillance systems.
  • Good understanding of cybersecurity principles, network security, TCP/IP, firewalls, VPNs, endpoint protection, and vulnerability management.
  • Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and integrated security system issues.
  • Familiarity with security standards, regulatory compliance, and security best practices.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, electrical schematics, and network diagrams.
  • Experience with security management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Knowledge of system integration, commissioning, testing, and User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2–5 years' experience in security engineering, cybersecurity, network security, or electronic security systems.
  • Experience with CCTV, access control, alarm systems, network security, or cybersecurity infrastructure is preferred.
  • Experience supporting construction, industrial, commercial, or data centre projects is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
  • Self-motivated, organised, customer-focused, and able to work independently under pressure.
