Role Description

The Company
Our client is a local IT solutions provider specialising in innovative AI solutions, decision-making tools and business optimisation.

Petaling Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed, well-structured test plans, test scenarios and test cases based on requirements and designs.
• Estimate, prioritise, plan and coordinate testing activities for new features and change requests.
• Execute SIT and UAT, identify, document and track thoroughly and track defects through to closure.
• Develop and maintain functional test cases and other test artifacts such as test data, test scripts, checklists and regression suites.
• Perform thorough regression testing after fixes, reproduce and resolve defects.
• Work closely with Business Analyst to clarify requirements and close gaps found during testing.
• Collaborate with Developers in analysing and resolving any defects found during testing.
• Support the design and implementation of test frameworks for automated and continuous integration testing where applicable.
• Analyse reported problems, identify root cause from a testing perspective and provide inputs on impact and effort to fix.
• Isolate, replicate and verify defect fixes in different environments.

Technical Expertise

• Basic knowledge of databases and ability to write simple SQL queries for data validation.
• Basic knowledge of Linux commands for applications and log checks.
• Experience using at least one Test Management tool and one Defect Tracking tool.
• Exposure to Test Automation tool such as Selenium and Cypress is an added advantage.

Qualifications

• Minimum Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2-5 years of hands-on experience in software testing (manual and/or automated), with a strong track record of defect management and problem solving, preferably in a tech or AI-focused environment.
• Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) and coding standards such as Agile and Scrum.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams (BA, developers, project management).
