Job Summary
The Manager – Project Risk Management is responsible for organising, managing, and monitoring the identification, analysis, and mitigation of internal and external risks across heavy engineering operations and project environments. This role develops and implements risk management frameworks, conducts qualitative and quantitative risk assessments, and ensures effective mitigation strategies are in place to safeguard strategic, operational, financial, and compliance objectives.


Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the identification, assessment, and monitoring of financial, operational, legal, strategic, and reputational risks at both business unit and project levels.
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative risk analyses to evaluate severity, probability, and impact of identified risks.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk management strategies, controls, and mitigation plans.
  • Ensure risks are assessed in accordance with the approved Risk Assessment Matrix and obtain necessary endorsements at appropriate authority levels.
  • Monitor evolving risk environments and ensure mitigation controls remain effective.
  • Track progress of risk response action plans and provide guidance where deviations occur.
  • Generate and maintain Risk Registers, preparing detailed reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Recommend proactive measures to reduce or eliminate exposure to risks and capitalise on opportunities.
  • Support the Project Control Manager / Risk Manager in achieving project objectives and ensuring compliance with established governance frameworks.
  • Exercise decision-making authority within approved Limits of Authority (LOA), escalating matters as required.

Technical Expertise
  • Strong expertise in enterprise and project risk management within heavy engineering environments.
  • Solid understanding of project execution processes, including EPCIC, EPCC, EPCI, and EPC frameworks.
  • Knowledge of project costing, scheduling, forecasting, and contract management principles.
  • Experience applying qualitative and quantitative risk assessment methodologies.
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to interpret risk data and translate findings into actionable strategies.
  • Proven ability to drive execution, operational excellence, and governance compliance.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at multiple levels.
  • Leadership capability with demonstrated integrity and ability to inspire trust.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Engineering or an equivalent discipline (minimum requirement).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Project Control or Project Management within heavy engineering projects.
  • Experience working in EPCIC / EPCC / EPCI / EPC project environments is required.
  • Extensive and diversified exposure to large-scale engineering or infrastructure projects.
