Job Summary
The Lifting Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and supervising all lifting operations at project sites to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant execution. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role oversees day-to-day lifting activities, ensures adherence to regulatory and safety standards, and works closely with subcontractors, site teams, and HSE personnel to support successful project delivery.


Key Responsibilities
  • Report directly to the Construction Manager and support overall site operations.
  • Plan, organise, and supervise lifting activities in coordination with subcontractors and operations teams.
  • Monitor day-to-day lifting operations to ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently.
  • Liaise closely with subcontractors and site personnel on all ongoing lifting activities.
  • Conduct routine site inspections and checks to ensure compliance with authority regulations and project requirements.
  • Identify and address safety concerns related to lifting operations, ensuring timely communication with relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and provide regular reports on lifting activities, site progress, and operational performance.
  • Collaborate with the HSE team to ensure full compliance with safety standards, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support overall construction activities and perform additional duties as assigned by management.

Technical Expertise
  • Strong technical knowledge and practical experience in lifting operations for heavy structures.
  • Experience in supervising lifting works within infrastructure or transport-related construction projects.
  • Sound understanding of safety regulations, lifting procedures, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to coordinate effectively with subcontractors, site teams, and HSE personnel.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities in a site-based environment.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or an equivalent discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the construction industry.
  • At least 3 years of experience in construction supervision for vehicular structures or infrastructure projects (e.g. roadworks, MRT, viaduct projects).
  • Appointed Person for Lifting Operations certification is mandatory.
  • Willingness to work on-site and support night lifting operations when required.
