Job Summary The Civil Engineer is responsible for supporting and managing construction activities to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved schedules, specifications, and quality standards. Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role oversees project coordination, technical engineering support, stakeholder communication, and site execution for infrastructure and civil engineering works.
Key Responsibilities
Report directly to the Construction Manager on project progress, technical matters, and site activities.
Prepare detailed project schedules and closely monitor progress to ensure timely completion of works.
Prepare detailed method statements and supporting technical documentation for construction activities.
Coordinate effectively with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and vendors to support smooth project execution.
Attend meetings with project stakeholders and provide technical updates as required.
Generate, manage, and maintain project reports, meeting records, and engineering documentation.
Propose alternative work methods and improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.
Handle technical and engineering issues arising during project execution and provide practical solutions.
Ensure all construction activities comply with quality, environmental, health, and safety requirements.
Support project teams in maintaining compliance with project specifications, authority requirements, and engineering standards.
Technical Expertise
Strong technical knowledge in civil engineering construction, particularly in foundation works, structural works, ERSS, and viaduct construction.
Experience in construction supervision and infrastructure project execution.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and AutoCAD.
Understanding of construction methodologies, scheduling, and site coordination practices.
Ability to manage technical documentation, engineering reports, and stakeholder coordination effectively.
Strong problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualification.
Minimum 5 years of relevant civil engineering experience.
At least 2 years of experience in construction and supervision of vehicular structures and road projects, preferably involving LTA infrastructure projects.
Certifications such as CSCPM, BCSS, Confined Space, or Work at Height are advantageous.
Willingness to work according to the project’s required working days and hours.
