Job Summary The Associate, Mechanical is responsible for leading and delivering mechanical engineering design services across the full project lifecycle, including concept design, detailed design, authority submissions, contract documentation, site support, and project completion. This role provides technical leadership, ensures design compliance with relevant codes and standards, and acts as a key client-facing representative for mechanical engineering matters. The role also includes responsibility as a Qualified Person (QP) / Professional Engineer (PE) for statutory submissions and project approvals where required.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers across all stages of project delivery, including concept design, detailed design development, authority submissions, construction support, and project close-out.
Provide technical direction, review, and approval of mechanical design deliverables to ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, and best practices.
Oversee and ensure consistency in mechanical engineering design standards, guidelines, and specifications across projects.
Manage project delivery to ensure quality outcomes, timely completion, and adherence to approved budgets and fee targets.
Act as Person-in-Charge (PIC) and/or Project Manager (PM) for assigned projects where required.
Serve as Qualified Person (QP) / Professional Engineer (PE) for statutory submissions, certifications, and authority approvals.
Act as primary client interface for mechanical engineering matters, ensuring effective communication and high levels of client satisfaction.
Coordinate with clients, authorities, consultants, contractors, and internal teams to resolve technical and project-related issues.
Drive continuous improvement in engineering design quality, technical capability, and team development.
Mentor, guide, and develop engineers within the team to strengthen technical competency and performance.
Technical Expertise
Strong expertise in mechanical building services design across the full project lifecycle.
In-depth knowledge of relevant codes, standards, and authority submission requirements.
Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex projects.
Strong technical review and approval capability for mechanical systems design.
Experience in project management, client coordination, and stakeholder engagement.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and Qualified Person (QP) in Singapore.
Qualifications
Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from a recognised institution.
Registered Professional Engineer (PE) and Qualified Person (QP) in Singapore.
Extensive experience in mechanical design within an engineering consultancy environment.
Demonstrated experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex projects.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Proven ability to motivate, mentor, and develop high-performing engineering teams.
